Born and raised on Wabash Street in the Bay
- Goodman neighborhood of Rochester's eastside, Sam learned
early the values of hard work and community. Growing
up Sam did odd jobs for the neighbors to earn spending
money. "One of the great memories I have of the old
neighborhood is riding my bicycle to DV's Bakery to pick up
loaves of hot french bread and then going across the street to
Lanovara's for Italian pastries".
| Sam attended No. 25 School,
Frederick Douglass Junior High School and Edison Tech on
Clifford Avenue. He went on to MCC where he earned an AAS
degree in Engineering graduating with Distinction. |

He then completed his BS degree in Electrical Engineering at
Cornell University, also with Distinction. "It was incredible
how well prepared I was for Cornell from attending both Edison and MCC".
"We were doing things in junior year of Cornell that I had
learned at Edison". |
In 1981 Sam
began his professional career at Eastman Kodak performing design
and research in solid state digital imaging. In late 1982
he opened his first restaurant - Peaches, on Thurston Road in
the City's 19th ward. He went on to open Plums Restaurant
in 1987 located in the Town of Brighton.
In 1991 Sam founded
Rowe Engineering,
an electronics design company specializing in high-end
communications based prototyping and product development.
In 1992 he founded Enerserve, Inc. an energy conservation
company that performed electrical system upgrades on mid to
large commercial and industrial buildings helping their owners
to conserve energy and participate in utility company rebates.
In 1994 Sam founded
Springwaters, Inc., a
private label spring water bottling company which ships
products to over 14 states to customers including restaurants,
hotels, country clubs, hospitals, schools and civic
organizations such as Rotary International and Lions Clubs.
Over the past 25 years, Sam has created
businesses employing more than 300 people in our community.
He is the only candidate for the 132nd Assembly District who has
substantial business experience. He knows first hand what
it takes to create and sustain jobs in New York State.
Sam Trapani has the
desire and vision necessary
to reform State government and reduce taxes to help stimulate
our local economy and create jobs.
Sam has lived in the City of
Rochester, Irondequoit and for the past 10 years in Brighton with his
wife and two children.
