Assembly Votes To Keep Gasoline Taxes High

In a painful blow to our community, especially the poor, incumbent Joe Morelle votes to keep gasoline tax at all time high!  Sam Trapani was present on the Assembly floor to observe the vote.

"With our Upstate economy so poor it would have been a boom to have increased tourism for the summer vacation season.  I couldn't believe my eyes when Assembly Tourism Committee Chairman Morelle voted against the reduced tax on gasoline for the limited summer vacation season".

This is indicative of Speaker Sheldon Silver's "Downstate Agenda" whereby New York City will be the benefactor of the "windfall" gas tax paid by Upstate drivers.  A significant majority of Downstate residents use mass transit and don't purchase gasoline.
